They shoot horses, don’t they?

Kennedy Calling proudly presents: Susanne Kennedy – who will stage an adaption of Horace McCoy’s novel / film „They shoot horses, don’t they“ at the prestigious Münchner Kammerspiele in February 2011.

Theater genius Johann Simons, the assigned Kammerspiele’s Artistic Director for 2011, recruited Susanne a while back after having seen her plays at the Dutch National Theater in The Hague („Hedda Gabler“ by Ibsen, „The New Electric Ballroom“ by Enda Walsh, „Phaedra’s Love“ by Sarah Kane and „On Animals“ by Elfriede Jelinek).

2 Thoughts.

  1. I saw your wonderful production of Fegefeuer in Ingolstadt at the Kammerspiele in Feb. I assistant-directed a production of Der Gute Mensch von Sezuan at Bristol University in 1994 and have also written music for two Peter Weiss plays. Following my degree in French and German I came to Munich to write a thesis on Fleißer. I am currently working on a first play and am being guided in this by the British director Annie Castledine. The play will be in German and is inspired by my experience teaching German to Afghan refugees. It will probably be completed in the course of 2014. I would love it if we made contact, you may be interested in directing it, if – when the time comes – you feel it fits in with your trajectory as a director ?? If you are potentially interested please contact me at the above email address.

  2. Hi Catherine
Thanks for your comment. I’ll forward it to my sister Susanne (I’m her brother and not in the theatre business). She will contact you if she’s itnerested.

    Kind regards
